I read somewhere that an author bio is supposed to help people warm up to you rather than be a ‘just the facts’ introduction. \u00a0Well, I recently realized I left out a ‘fun fact’ that I’ve decided to add this week: \u00a0I invented a drink!<\/p>\n
I don’t know if ‘invented’ is the right word, but a few years back I created the drink at home, loved the taste, and shared the recipe with friends and family. \u00a0Most liked it. \u00a0So, I named it, and I’ve been sharing it with anyone who will listen. \u00a0However, I can’t believe I forgot to share it with my Carpe College<\/a> people. \u00a0So, here’s the recipe for the one and only ‘Grape & Granny’:<\/p>\n Ingredients: \u00a0White Grape Juice, Pomegranate Juice<\/p>\n Fill glass with ice<\/p>\n Add 2\/3 White Grape Juice<\/p>\n Pour in 1\/3 Pomegranate Juice<\/p>\n (Check out the ‘lava lamp’ visual display of the Pom morphing through the Grape)<\/p>\n Stir or don’t stir<\/p>\n ENJOY!<\/p>\n (While this is a wonderful summer drink, I enjoy plenty of ’em year ’round. \u00a0If you’re an adult, feel free to add a touch of vodka or gin. I’m not a coffee drinker, so it’s a regular morning drink for me. \u00a0It’s a great ‘afternoon by the pool’ drink, as well.)<\/p>\n This recipe actually emerged from a sort of ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ experience. \u00a0I heard about Pomegranate juice being good for you, so we grabbed some from the store. \u00a0But when I saw how expensive it was, I tried to combine it with others, so I wasn’t using it up so quickly. \u00a0 The first mix I tried was with my old favorite, white grape juice, and the rest is history.<\/p>\n Oh, by the way, if you haven’t tried pomegranate seeds yet, they’re a terrific snack!<\/p>\n So, what does this have to do with college?! \u00a0Drink healthy juice.
