There are millions of miserable, middle-aged people in the world, and I\u2019m assuming you don\u2019t want to end up like them. That\u2019s what this book is about: developing habits and a plan to become\u2026. well\u2026. not miserable.<\/p>\n

Pretty lofty, eh?!<\/p>\n

For many, college is the first real and significant step toward finding one\u2019s place in the universe, to \u2018following one\u2019s bliss,\u2019 as Joseph Campbell put it (Look him up!). So, if you prefer bliss to misery, you\u2019ll need to embrace the college experience in all its glory. You\u2019ll need to have a sense of yourself, your goals, your strengths and weaknesses. You\u2019ll need to have an active approach to tackling schoolwork, meeting new friends, and expanding your horizons. You\u2019ll need to start dreaming your own dreams, rather than those of your parents. You\u2019ll need to develop keen internal radar that helps you distinguish between opportunities and distractions. You\u2019ll need balance. You\u2019ll need to learn to trust yourself and to forgive yourself and to get back on your horse and take some more risk. You\u2019ll need to reflect seriously, and often, on the question: \u201cWho am I, where am I going, why and how?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mostly, though, you\u2019ll need to… Carpe College!<\/strong><\/p>\n
